The hives were from a sulfa allergy
The allergist we saw thought the hives were a classic reaction to the sulfa drug and not a reaction to another food. We had Little Grab tested and he didn't have a reaction to any of the common allergens. It was, however, very difficult to keep him still for the skin test to take effect. I was reassured after the test and the hives eventually went away, after about a month.
