New Change is Strange book on helping kids adjust to moving

Change is Strange, the book series that helps little kids make big changes, has a new book due out this May. Previous books have tackled subjects such as giving up a pacifier, having a new baby, first day of school, and mommy and daddy are going on a trip. The newest book in the series brings the same funky illustrations to another common change for kids, moving...

We’re Moving tells the story of Charlie finding out that his family is about to move to a new house. At first he is not happy. He doesn’t like change and doesn’t want to leave his friends, his room and his neighborhood. However, when his mom tells him about their new home, the new school and the ice cream shop around the corner, Charlie finds himself getting excited. Charlie’s mom takes him to see the new house and school and even introduces him to his new neighbor. Charlie’s mom let’s Charlie have a going away ice cream party to say good bye to his friends. He will miss his old house but he is excited for his new adventure. (from Change is Strange Web site)

High Maintenance Mom reviewed "No More Pacifier" in September of 2005 after my son had given up his pacifier. Kids love stories about other kids conquering their fears and B really enjoyed No More Pacifier. We recommend checking out pages from We're Moving.

We also recommend checking the helpful hints on the Change is Strange Web site. The hints cover topics from the first four books along with a babysitter checklist.

Learning how to handle big changes can be difficult. It's nice to have help.
