Cranberry Jello and exerciseI hope you had a great Thanksgiving and are enjoying the weekend. We went camping, where we took our holiday picture, and returned to a traditional Thanksgiving meal prepared by our friends at Whole Foods. I missed the smell of turkey cooking in the house but I made the HMM cranberry jello and the kids still love it. Although I haven't completed a full workout yet this week, I've been trying to fit in small amounts of exercise and stretching whenever possible. Here are a few links to previous exercise posts for quick activities to add to your day: Stretch of the day plus yoga, standing with a neutral spine, Evening leg lifts, How to Exercise While Recovering From Caesarean Birth, Workout routines for your iPod or MP3 player, and You may be exercising more than you think... (some research shows that thinking you are exercising more really does make a difference so congratulate yourself and keep up the good work!).

Non traditional Thanksgiving
I also had a non traditional Thanksgiving meal since my newborn is only 4 weeks old....we ordered Peking Duck! I had a craving and my husband had a desire to make me happy. My Mom made some of her traditional Thanksgiving sides to make the rest of the crew happy. Instead of eating a lot at one sitting, I grazed over the course of a few days and feel better for it. It is so cold here that I havent walked much with the new baby and now realize that I am fewer and fewer excuses for this post pregnancy tummy. I do have a holiday party to think about and a post holiday gala....time to get myself in shape!
Exercise and the holidays
I also love to graze and feel much better for it. My kids have a difficult time sitting still for a 15 minute meal and it's too painful to cook, force them to sit at the table, and then have them tell me they don't want to eat the food. There are only so many battles I can fight at a time and it's hard to be thankful with a room of ungrateful kids!
