Comfort items for surgery / birth
I can't praise the Bucky Fuzzy Wuzzy items enough. They helped me through several flights, time changes, and now a surgery. At night I have to sleep with my head elevated so I put the neck pillow next to my face for support. My other comfort items include sports bras (anything that is easy to get on and off), fuzzy socks, soft pjs, soft blankets, and a hat (because I didn't shower for a few days and for some reason the doorbell rang). I also bought lots of soft food before the surgery (see Gum surgery and soft low-sugar, non-dairy food (a.k.a. baby food)) and made sure our soft ice packs - including our kid ones, were in the freezer. One thing that would have helped on day five was some kind of pain reliever with a sleep aid. The Tylenol with codeine didn't make the time change any easier. I also forgot to update our NetFlix queue and ask TiVo to tape my favorites so I had a few days without anything saved up. I ended up using Amazon UnBox. Below are a few of my favorite comfort movies.
