High Maintenance Mom

My husband used to travel a lot and it wasn't as hard on the kids when they were younger. Now that my daughter is 3 she understands our routine and wonders when Daddy is not a part of it. One of my husbands co-workers gave us a great book that helped his kids. When Daddy Travels (Lift the Flap Story) by Harriet Ziefert (and its companion When Mommy Travels) is a great little story outlining what does and doesn't happen when a parent is away on a trip..... It's an easy read for even very young kids and builds to a very happy ending. My daughter liked it a lot and would always ask to read it when my husband was away. Now that his travel has stopped we don't need to read it as much but she still likes the flaps you lift to unveil the fun things you can do to pass the time while Daddy or Mommy is away.
