The Morning Rush-getting your kids out of the door!

I like order! I don't pretend I don't and I don't apologize for it. Well before my kids were born I had a picture of how I wanted my home to be run and it is true to form to this day. So, when I knew my daughter would be going to school each morning and that my husband wanted to be the one to drop her off on his way to work, I knew I had to have a "morning rush" plan. It didn't happen overnight but it did help to visualize how I wanted things to run and make adjustments here and there. When my son was born it had to be adjusted more. My point is, you have to have a plan and stick to it (within reason). Here are my tips for successfully getting the kids ready for school.....

Now you might wonder why we had a fence in the first place but suffice it to say that we were protecting our kids from the jagged brick fireplace, tv, and cables. We were also hoping to protect some of our the non-baby proofed items from the kids. The fence olympics happened in the evening so we put everyone to bed and hoped today would be easier. First thing Baby S did when he woke was hop the fence. Each time I removed him from the DVDs or wine, he climbed back over. He was so proud of his new skill...

Mommy, there's an ant in my room and other excuses for not sleeping

I'm sitting here listening to our three year-old cry in his room. I know that we have at least three nights of this. We've done it before and it still sucks. When he was younger it was easier and we all slept better. I was able to let him cry and he was able to cry for a short period of time and then fall asleep. It was the language development that made it hard...
