I bought my first pair of Crocs today at Costco for $19.99. They are surprisingly comfortable. I also bought the 250 piece set of Tinkertoys, a large garbage truck, and a cool book called My Little Yellow Taxi

Back-to-School sales make August one of my favorite times of the year. My next favorite time could possibly be mid-September when all the school supplies are discounted even more. I love paper products and often want new notebooks, pens, pencils, and crayons for myself. Having kids, means that I get to participate in the Back-to-School frenzy, which appears to be much more fun with younger kids who don't need anything than older kids who have lists of specific items they are supposed to bring on the first day of school...

Old Navy is having a 75% off sale (Gap too as well as countless other clothing stores), our local frame shop is having a two for one sale, and Target has some interesting items in the Dollar Spot...

It's always fun to go through the Costco holiday selection and I often wish I had bought more as the holidays approach. Who knew we'd be invited to a baby shower and asked to bring a bath toy after passing on the Elmo bath set last year? There are a few items I was really excited about this weekend so I thought I would mention them (Leap Frog videos, beading sets, puppets, etc.). There are also a few Halloween costumes ($12.99 - we bought B the cow one) and Dr Seuss books on CD (about $5.99 for a paperback book and CD)...

Target has school supplies on sale (save 10% and Back to School Specials) including 10 notebooks for $1. Our daycare/preschool uses basic notebooks for the kids to draw in (they attach a picture of the child and their name to the cover). I use the notebooks for our kid's travel journals, sticker books, and for birthday party giveaways. There were also starter kits for Method cleaning products.

Just a quick reminder about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale -- July 31st is the last day. I bought new bras and underwear when I went to pick up B's new shoes (they have SPANX and Cosabella - if you haven't heard of SPANX, check out the website!). I can't believe it's been so long since I bought a non-maternity bra. If you go to the store, the sale bras are organized by size so it's easy to see what's left.
